We all know that getting banned for RMT is not common. Getting perma-banned due to RMT is even rarer I don't know if anyone was banned perma-wise for RMT. If you have +25 wep and lvl10 gems are telling SmileGate/AGS all players "we do not have to enforce RMT bans, so just go". Of course, there are going to be those who pay for everything legitimate and legitimately, but having been in two guilds that are serious I'm able to tell you from experience that the majority of whales encounter are RMT.

The biggest issue I have in this strategy is that bots can deliberately send random players huge amounts of gold in order to cause an outrage within the community and force them to change the system of punishment. To combat this I believe they should put in place a system where it is only possible to trade gold when two players are friends . This way, there is no reason to accept RMT gold. Also, there's an issue with bots who pay their customers via Auction House.

The plan I came up with isn't ideal The only way I've come up with to stop this would be to set an upper limit on the price an item could be sold for, however this could create additional problems.

In reality, they won't be able to fully eliminate bots and RMT However, by invoking fear of real punishment, they'll be able to at least reduce the number users willing to risk their lives and RMT.
